Senior Trip Prep: What to Start Doing Now That School’s Back in Session

Your senior trip might feel like it’s forever away, but trust me, it’ll be here before you know it! At GradCity, we’ve seen thousands of students get ready for their big adventure, and a little prep now makes a huge difference later. Here are some things you can start doing today to make sure your senior trip is nothing but good vibes.
1. Get Your Passport (or Check if It’s Still Valid)
Your passport is your golden ticket. Don’t wait until the last minute… processing times can take weeks (sometimes months!). Already have one? Double-check the expiration date. Many destinations require your passport to be valid at least six months past your travel dates. Trust me, you don’t want a passport mishap to be the reason why you’re not partying with your friends.
2. Choose Your Roommates
Figuring out who you’re rooming with early helps avoid last-minute stress. Start having the conversation whenever you see your friends at school, so you can lock in your preferred roommates when it’s time to submit your rooming info.
3. Stay on Top of Payments
We get it… senior year is expensive. I know saving up for a senior trip might be challenging, but it’s totally worth it! Staying on top of your payment schedule makes everything smoother, and you’ll avoid any last-minute scrambles. Your senior trip is an investment for the best trip of your life!
4. Think About Packing Essentials
No need to pack your bag yet, but start taking note of what you’ll want to bring. Travel-size toiletries, sunscreen, and an extra charger or portable battery are lifesavers. Starting early means you won’t be rushing to Target the night before your flight. I have traveled with thousands of students, and my best tip is to start stashing essentials whenever you see them.
5. Stay Connected With Updates
The GradCity team will be sharing important info leading up to the trip. Make sure you’re checking your email, following GradCity’s social media pages, and keeping up with any updates so nothing slips through the cracks.
6. Build the Hype!
Half the fun of a senior trip is the anticipation. Count down with your friends, make playlists, and plan out the must-do activities you want to experience once you’re there!
Me and the entire GradCity team are so excited to celebrate with you!
